JULY

Another Winter by the skin of my teeth
Holding on with the memories I keep

When I get there I promise I’ll try
To do my best not to watch it go by

PRE
Hold me, hold my beating heart while I’m coming alive
Hold me, hold my every breath for a week in July

Chorus
Live a little harder, take in everything that you can
Feel a little deeper, everything will go as you planned

I heard mention that AJ is back
Built his new costume out of latex and tacks

Soaking my bones in the ocean today
Fix me up for 51 weeks away

PRE
Hold me, hold my beating heart while I’m coming alive
Hold me, hold my every breath for a week in July

Chorus
Live a little harder, take in everything that you can
Feel  a little deeper, everything will go as you planned

I don’t need a reason, just give me the season and I’ll be there to feel it, live it and believe it

Look into the sky, it’s glowing and alive and everything you missed is right now at your side

1999

Have you heard the news I got Chi Chi to buy us booze
It’s gonna be a party like we’ve never seen before

Meet at “Robin Jones”, bring 10 bucks you’re good to go
We’ll head up to the Red Banks before we hit the dance

Oh Oh oh oh

Pretend you’re a pro, like Mickey Mantle good to go
Even though you’ve never had more than you get at church

Everyone you know is gonna be there, gonna show
You gotta prove to them that you’re worthy of their nods

Oh oh Oh OH

Chorus
Put your hands up party like it’s 1999
Let it be the best thing that you’ve felt in the past while

Everything you’d ever want is right in front of you
Nothing gonna change you and nothing you can’t do

In ninety nine

Nineteen ninety nine
____________________________________________
This will be the summer that you find the perfect lover
Cashing in your smile while your heart is making bank

Take a look around, soak it in and feel the sounds
You’ll wanna hold this memory when you’re old and looking back

The Walk

I’ve been waiting for tonight since I heard the news
Summer Dance, one more chance, no way I can lose

When I get goin’… I’ll tell you what it’s like to be alive

Something in the night is telling me it’s gonna be
Everything I want and everything I need

When I get goin’… I’ll tell you what it’s like to be alive

________________________________________

Take another drink and I feel my body grow
Above the trees, above the hills, ain’t nothin’ I don’t know

When I get goin’… I’ll tell you what it’s like to be alive

Every little part of me feels like a king
Walk the walk, talk the talk, feel all that it brings

When I get goin’… I’ll tell you what it’s like to be alive

Queen

I felt it in my bones when I woke today
I was gonna start doing what I say

Tell me what you want and I’ll tell you what I’ll do about it
I can make it good, better than you ever dreamed about
_____________________________________________________
Tell me what you want and I’ll tell you what I’ll do about it
I can make it good, make it feel right
_____________________________________________________
Sun was going down, so was Tropikiwi with it
Then you turned around, must have been here for a summer visit

PRE
I can make you feel like a queen

CHORUS
I know I won’t leave here alone - No he won’t leave here alone

Pay the cover charge, walk in like your Michael Jackson
Take a look around, and there she is like fire

Tell me what you want - I got it
Tell me what you need - I’ll be it (I’m it)

Straight from my heart I’ve missed you
Even though I’ve only Kissed you

Straight from my heart I’ve known It
Even though I’ve just been shown it

Tick tock my search is over I can feel my blood exploding
Tick tock my fire’s burning I can feel my world turning

BRIDGE
I like the way it makes me feel - when everything I need is falling into place

I like the way it makes me feel - when everything I need is written on my face

Fuse

Tell me what you wanna feel
I will give you more

Tell me where you wanna be
I will open doors

PRE
Where will we hide when the moon and the dark goes
No matter where where, it’ll be ‘cause the heart knows

Tell me what you wanna feel
I will show you all
That you ever wanted girl
This could never fall

CHORUS
We got all that we could ever need
Write it on our face and wear it on our sleeve

Everything is better with you here
Never gonna end and never gonna veer
__________________________________________
And if it all gets heavy I promise that I’ll be
A rock when you need me, a boat in the sea

And when all the others are bending at the knees
I give you my word that you always got me

I will be a cannon ball
You can be the fuse

Light me with your fire now
Forever you’re my muse

Egypt Falls

My heart is overflowing
Like Egypt Falls

I’ve only been here for a week but
I can feel the call

The world lit up like fire
And I felt alive

Your eyes were glowing with the sky
and I knew you were mine

What I’ve found out since I’ve come
The world is more

My blood is San Francisco
My heart is the shore

Bridge
Like a fire you can move but you can’t hold a candle if you never wanna hold still

White Knuckled

I didn’t see it coming, no I didn’t see the day
That I found what I was looking for in every single way
Now you’re back in San Francisco, and my head is in the clouds
And I’m thinking ‘bout you every moment wishing you’re around

Tell me what it’s like there, does it snow or does it rain?
I’ve got a thousand things I’m feeling and half of them are pain
Another thousand different things that I would like to say to you
Half of them I shouldn’t mouth but all of them are true

Tell me can I reach you, can I call or can I write?
Can I tell you what it’s like here when summer loses light
And the waves start getting bigger and leaves are coming down
And there’s nothing but your thoughts in an empty dying town

Chorus

When will you be back in my world?
I can’t go on alone

I wanna tell you everything, I wanna let you know
That I thought about you every moment, since you had to go
And I’m not a man of may words but I would memorize
The Oxford English Dictionary just to see your eyes

Deep inside my mind I’ve locked every memory
Feels like a lifetime of complimentary scenes
And I’ll hold on to them white knuckled so I know they’ll never leave
And dream about the time when you’re back in town with me

Winter’s getting closer, I can feel it in the air
And it’s not the place you’d recognize from the two weeks that you’re here
If I feel this way at Christmas I don’t know what I’ll do,
But I know it would be anything if that meant seeing you

Bruce Lee

I’m guessing that it’s over based upon the notion that I haven’t heard a word at all
And I’m starting to see that all that I believed was destined from the start to fall

I guess I should have known that one week in the summer was only that and nothing more
But when you’re trying to forget it builds up your regrets and you feel it in your deepest core

I know the old saying that I should be happy to have felt it than to not at all
So I think about the week I feel into my dream and the hurting takes a moment to stall

CHORUS
Does it get cold there?
I heard there’s no snow there
Do you feel bold there
All alone

I guess I’ll grow old here
Work on my soul here
Build my own home here
On my own

I feel it in my body like I did karate and I took a few hits from Bruce Lee
But I know that it will pass and I will make it back to being mostly me

Trying to believe in everything I see is like running through a giant brick wall
I put my head down and don’t make a sound If I push it I know it will fall

Again

Guts For Days

When I said, “I won’t let you down!”
You believed my every sound
So when I say, “It’ll all be fine!”
You can trust me every time

CHORUS
Though it hurts to be afraid I know you got guts for days
And you’re stronger than the sum of the whole world’s armies guns
Though it hurts to be afraid I know you got strength in ways
That I’ve never seen before and I’ll never see again

When I say “I won’t let you go!”
You are never on your own
When the days are getting hard
You got me and all my heart

______________________________________________________________________

Babe Ruth

Follow me out to the pier
Tell what you want me to hear
I can make everything good
I promise to do what I should

Give me their legs and a swing
Mantle (Babe Ruth) got nothing on me
I can make anyone feel
Whatever you want them to feel

There’s no way that I would ever let you down
Hang right on, don’t let go I got you now

Hang on, I got you right now

Feel the American dream
Drip all its guts and esteem
Over your legs in Nepal
Write out our names on the wall

______________________________________________________________________

Couple Pills

Can you hear me now? Can you hear at all?
Have you heard the news? They’ve begun to fall

When the hurtin’s done, and I can feel again
I will never let it back in my head

Every time I feel this way I’ll close my eyes recall the day that
Every part of what we’re fighting for was gone. I’ll feel this way no more

I need a couple pills to help me fall asleep
I used to think that strength was not being weak

As long as my heart is beating
I will hold onto this
As long as my heart is beating
Hold onto it

______________________________________________________________________

Cowboys and Aliens

I got my face in the fire but I'm falling asleep
Might be the liquor, might be the weeks –that I fell in to

Turned my guitar into a piano, cowboys and aliens- both in my blood
I'm covered in blood, I'm covered in blood

Chorus
Maybe if I prayed I would be luckier

Glass is broken, stuck in my feet
Calloused shin-splints, lucky teeth
Can't jump to the moon no more

______________________________________________________________________

Words For Days

I’ve got an old book says it’s got the words to figure it out if you figure you’re worth something a little more than the world’s been telling you
got you down by the throat while it’s yelling at you
“Get in touch with your T.V. screen, get in line put some money on the latest scene!”
And I’m out here on my own looking for clues on the wrong side of home
I might not have the words when I’m face to face, unlace my lace, cover in mace I’ve got words for days I’m gonna talk till I’m blue gonna figure out something before I’m through.

Gotta shut down rest assured ‘cause you ain't too sure about what you heard
You’re not a gambling man but you’ll bet when you’re dying
You’re dying to know if you’re doing the right thing

Every now and then it feels like it’s written
Who’s to say it’s over? Who’s to say that it’s done?
And you’re beautiful just the way you are don’t worry about nothing ‘cause you’re gonna get far
And I’m not sure what I’m doing for the summer gonna figure it out while I hit the ground running
Like a speed demon stuck in reverse, can’t see the future ‘cause you figure you’re cursed
And I don’t see why it can’t be good, just figure out the hurt like we said we could
It’s the nicest stretch of weather that we had in years but we’re waiting for the part where the fog it clears maybe see a little better, maybe see it on our own maybe figure out the world, maybe figure where we’re going.

Gotta shut down rest assured ‘cause you ain't too sure about what you heard
You’re not a gambling man but you’ll bet when you’re dying
You’re dying to know if you’re doing the right thing

______________________________________________________________________

Poets

I guess I’m out here on my own
It’s sinking in that I’m alone

Did you hear that thunder roll?
Could you feel it in your bones?

Who’s gonna be the one to hold you
when you’re goin’ outta your head?
Who’s gonna be the one to love you
when you’re written off for dead?

Closing my eyes I’m going back in my mind
I’m going up in my head was it something I said?
Closing my eyes I’m going back to the time
I’m going up to your bed show you poets I’ve read

I heard the day the market crashed
You were calling us the past
It’s shaping up to be a cold winter
What could I do to get you back?

______________________________________________________________________

New York City

I know the perfect place but I can't afford the gas fare
There's buildings into space and the faces never sleep there
I guess it's made of gold, maybe we could steal a piece
Before we get to old, maybe we could see it

Chorus
There's room for you in New York City

We're playing for the door but we're supposed to get a pitcher
If you buy me more, I'll take a mental picture
And put you in my books, my one of my many books
Looks like we're gonna be saved, he's wearing a business suit
Shaved and ready to take on the world
Are you ready to take on the world?

______________________________________________________________________

Cambridge

I heard something Good
Heard you're disappearing soon
I'd disappear myself
If I knew I'd make it through

Would you meet me on my good side?
Meet me before dark
Meet me on my good side
Before this falls apart

'Cause I got everything that you'll ever need
If I'm wrong, I'll let you look inside of me
Come with me we'll disappear into the night
All my words mean nothing till you know I'm right

Chorus
So, if I followed you to Cambridge
If I followed you through fire
Would you tell me I'm still wrong?
Say everything you want to tell me
I'll believe you like a cold wind
I'll believe you like it burns

I heard something good
Heard you're leaving before sunrise
Getting on a plane
Moving far away

More

If I die here, take my organs
Find a robot, safely store them

When I close my eyes
I see something more

Teach him recall, give him memory
Let him go on, from my ending

Everything

Where am I
Slowly going?
Tell me why
They’re all knowing

Sink right in
Let it own me
Tell me what
You can show me

All I want
Is to feel
Everything
That is real

Do you know
Where you’re going?
Tell me what
You can show me

They don’t get to be scared for us
we feel it alone while they’re sending out drones again
They don’t get to be there for us
we feel it alone while they’re turning out clones again

I wanna fight the good fight, I wanna end the war
I wanna be the good news arriving at your door

Let’s feel it the real world, fuck the digital
Take it as it’s comin’, I swear it’s better girl

I wish I could do techno so I could watch you move
All I got are lyrics and the hope they’re close to truth

I’ll try to make a bad day better with my words
I wanna be the good news, the best you’ve ever heard

I wanna be the sunrise bringing on the day
I wanna be the good news that never goes away

I wanna be a story, the one you need to tell
I wanna be the good news, the words you’d never sell

I don’t wanna let you
Fall apart alone

I wanna be a clear sky telling you it’s fine
I wanna be the good news that Lets you come alive

Everything (Will be fine when we get to where we think we're going)

On Paper

Cold, old reasons, and the new change of seasons
There’s a few that I’d rather leave alone to the safety of my mind
Mind you, know you can’t read it
Read it, I’ll give you clues
One: nothing is the way that I thought it would be
Two: different people tell me to change.
I’m living with a white noise taking all the wrong choices away

On paper I’d remember your birthday
On paper I would
On paper I’d remember your birthday
On paper I should

Here’s why everyone has a reason to grow

Scan through pages of a list of to-do’s
Far from done
Turn pages where you wished you had just
Turned to run

‘Cause I’m running with a white noise
Making all the wrong sounds seem to disappear

On paper I’d remember your birthday
On paper I would
On paper I’d remember your birthday
On paper I should

Heat

I hope it meant something to you because it did to me
And I remember it all like yesterday

It must of meant something to you because it did to me
And I remember it all like yesterday

CHORUS
The walls are shaking, my heart is taking the heat of this
My mind is racing, my heart is breaking in two for this

I hope I meant something to you because you did to me
When I remember it all, it was better then

Do you ever think that maybe if we held our breath it would all go back to what it was?

Constellations

I fell in love with a new constellation
On the shores of Dunvegan
I fell in love with an old conversation
Even more than when it began

I watched the sun as it set on the west side
Heard a story I needed to hear
Found everything that I needed to find
Felt the flesh of your cheek as you neared

Chorus
I wouldn’t change it at all, not a thing, no
All that I need is right here, waiting for me

I watched the town as it danced to “Vampires”
Dipped my wounds in the salt of the sea
Built an old driftwood campfire
Was whatever I wanted to be

If this winter ends, I will be there with my friends
On the shore we did before, every other year we did before
If this winter ends, I will be there with my friends
I will hold it in my mind no matter where we go when it is time.
I will hold it in my mind no matter where we go

We can feel it more each time
Everyone is on our side

Baton Rouge

I figured out the only way, the truth will get you through the day
The only way I've ever learned, was through fucking up and getting burned

I fought a man in Baton Rouge, he beat me down my face was bruised
He taught me something I should know, don't judge a man by size no more

I kissed a girl in Mexico, she said "Please don't ever let me go!"
And I loved her till the day she disappeared with all my pay

Holdin' Up Grants

Worryin` bout coyotes and the girls on your mind, on top of an old mountain you`ve climbed a thousand times, eagle up above, legs can go forever, my hands aren`t even cold the weathers getting better

Thankful for the glaciers, you say it out aloud, no one`s even near you, to hear you or your sounds
You feel it in the air, you feel it in your blood, things are really changing, they really are

Chorus
When you make it home, we can make it happen
When you feel it too, you know that it`s coming

Summer's getting close make it home for the good days: Livin' on the coast with your fires and your own pace, getting younger, getting stronger, she's so pretty, ya belong with 'er

Holdin' up Grants because you did when you were seventeen
Can feel it in your hands you'd swear that it's a better dream
Than any were before
Gonna hold on a little more

______________________________________________________________________

Hercules

Working man's hands and a heart like the Nile River
Big strong arms that are going a mile a minute
He can explain the Ukraine Crisis, chop a chord of wood, tell you clearly what life is

Working out west in the Fort Mac sands
Travelling back and forth gets hard on a man
Was waiting on a call for a promised "name hire" but the bastards don't call so he's poor for a while

There's politics no matter what you do
It's all who you know and not what you've proved
I'm gonna write hit, open new doors, you don't worry about the fuckers in the union no more

For what it's worth I think you're doing good, Dad
I'm proud of you and I'm certainly glad
To call you my father and tell who I know that you're Hercules in working man's clothes

Chorus
If I knew God I would ask for a raise
Trade in this winter for some summer days
If I knew Allah I would call in a favor
Show me the way and I'll call you my saviour
If I knew Jesus I would learn some tricks
Walking on water making wine for kicks
If I knew (the right) people we wouldn't have to worry no more

I'd probably make more money if I didn't curse and swear
Sang about blue eyes and pretty long blonde hair
Used words like baby and lines like "I love you" too, but that's all for singers with no mud on their shoes

I don't care about money but I'd like some dough
So dad don't have to work out west no more
Mom can retire, I'll put my niece through school, buy my brothers new cars and take my girl to Peru

Please, Everyone

Please, Everyone

Right before your eyes, your soul is drying up and you don’t know
Your mind has turned to wires and greed. Cut you up and sparks you bleed

Chorus
Please, Everyone. What have we done?

Consume the things we think we need. It’s everything, we all agreed!
Mold yourself to make them smile. Hold your breath on self-denial

Fighting alone with an old empty gun, you take on an army to please everyone.
But it aint a battle you need to be in. Put down your weapon and please, everyone – You can never please everyone
Please, everyone. You can never please everyone

Please, everyone. What have we done?
Please, everyone. What have we become?

If this winter ends, I will be there with my friends
On the shore we did before, every other year we did before
If this winter ends, I will be there with my friends
I will hold it in my mind no matter where we go when it is time.
I will hold it in my mind no matter where we go

We can feel it more each time
Everyone is on our side

Outer Space

Get your head out of outer space, focus in on the human race
So you’re dying from cheque to cheque, I see you’re trying but still a wreck

Could you: Be a good man, be a good son, be an old friend, be a brave one?
Be a rock when it gets hard, be a soft hearted man when it all gets dark?

Chorus
Just don’t let them get inside your head
The moment that they do, the feeling’s dead

It’s been a hard winter, I concur. Have you yet made up with her?
You went to school and got a good degree, still you’re working at the Save Easy

Could you: Be a good man, be a good son, be an old friend, be a brave one?
Be a rock when it gets hard, be a soft hearted man when it all gets dark?

Get your head out of outer space, focus in on the human race

Family

I like to make a list of all who’ve done me good
So I can have their backs when they think that no one would
I like to write their names with ink and blood to show
That what they mean to me is more than what they know

I like the way it feels when a friend knocks at my door
Fills up the room with all the things I like them for
I need to tell you all what you really are to me
I wouldn’t stand a chance without my family

CHORUS
I will show you all that I can bring
For my family I’d do anything

I like to make a list of all who’ve done me good
So I can have their backs when they think that no one would
I like to write their names with ink and blood to show
That what they mean to me is more than what they know

______________________________________________________________________

Baton Rouge

I figured out the only way, the truth will get you through the day
The only way I’ve ever learned, was through fucking up and getting burned

I fought a man in Baton Rouge, he beat me down my face was bruised
He taught me something I should know, don’t judge a man by size no more

I kissed a girl in Mexico, she said “Please don’t ever let me go!”
And I loved her till the day she disappeared with all my pay

______________________________________________________________________

______________________________________________________________________

Guts For Days

When I said, “I won’t let you down!”
You believed my every sound
So when I say, “It’ll all be fine!”
You can trust me every time

CHORUS
Though it hurts to be afraid I know you got guts for days
And you’re stronger than the sum of the whole world’s armies guns
Though it hurts to be afraid I know you got strength in ways
That I’ve never seen before and I’ll never see again

When I say “I won’t let you go!”
You are never on your own
When the days are getting hard
You got me and all my heart

______________________________________________________________________

Model Being

When you get home tonight
Will it feel alright
Knowing what you did today?

Fold your suit away
Dream of Holiday
Say a prayer to your king “the man”

Pre-Chorus
So you tell me
Don’t believe in
What you’re dreaming
It will bring you down

CHORUS
All I feel when you call me out again
Deep down in me, is a need to prove you wrong

Everything you know
Was copied from a clone
You have formed your edges perfectly

What you’ve come to be
Is a model being
You’re an inner party reverie

______________________________________________________________________

Tonight

Kara, I’m sure tonight is gonna be a night as good as any night
They are looking out for you, they got your back no matter what you’re going through

And I’ll be sure ‘cause they told the truth
I’ll be sure ‘cause they told me too

Maybe if they medicate the middle class some more we will all get better
And if they are all sure as hell, then why the hell would we not do what they say?

CHORUS

When we get through tonight we can tell ourselves that their aint no other way
When we get through this fight we can tell ourselves that their aint no better way

Kara, do you feel safe? They killed that boy he had his hands up anyway
Tel Aviv’s on the T.V., they’re telling me what to believe

And I’ll be sure ‘cause they told the truth

Kara, do you feel afraid? Does your blood get cold when the ground starts shaking?
But you are gonna be alright, we can trust the kings and the truth their giving us

______________________________________________________________________

If You Wanna

Did you like the feeling did you feel it in your bones?
Do you need a reason? It’s a reason on its own

Do you think that maybe we should give it all a try?
What the hell is living if you wait until you die?

Chorus
If you wanna do it I will tell you all the things that I know
If you wanna do it I will be there through the fire and the cold

Maybe it’s exactly what we both are waiting for
This could be a chance to feel alive a little more

If you wanna do it I will let you in to all that I am
If you wanna do it I will help you to be all that you can

______________________________________________________________________

Thought Police

They all know what they put us through
We’re the proles they’re the silver spooned

They expect us all on our knees
Nothing’s safe they’ve got thought police

CHORUS
If we wanna make it, we can never fake it, we can never let them win
If we wanna make it, we can never fake it, we can never let them in

If we wanna make it out, we need to hold together
If we wanna make it out we got to be bold together

They should know what we all can do
‘Cause they all know what they put us through

______________________________________________________________________

Hope

Hope: Don't let me down
Could you be here now
When I need a hand?

Getting by gets hard
They beat you down
Try to take your heart

Do you feel what you need so you grow?
I believe all you need is to show you have a little hope
To have a little hope

So, you feel like hell
Your head aint holding
Up so well

All, that I can say
Is everything
Is gonna be okay

______________________________________________________________________

Soldiers

I’ve got soldiers in my head
They pick me up when I’m feeling dead
I’ve got soldiers in my heart
They pick me up when I fall apart

All together, I feel it’s better not to fight this fight on our own
All together, I feel it’s better with numbers not all alone

Chorus
I feel it all tonight, I can feel it in my heart
I feel it all tonight, I can feel the fire start

I’ve got soldiers in my blood
They pick me up when I’m not enough
I’ve got soldiers, you do too
They’ll fight for you if you want them to

All together

Sunday Movies

Berlin Wall

I can feel you everywhere, you're on the street and in my air
I don't think that I can let you go
'cause I'd push down the Berlin Wall, fight the war or take the fall
I would do whatever gets you through

Chorus
'Cause you got all a guy like me would ever want or ever need
I won't ever let you go, now it's the truth you need to know

When I'm strong I'm strong enough, If I'm wrong is it wrong to love?
I don't think that I could want you more
I could fill a book or two, tell you everything is true
Build you your own mountain when I'm through

______________________________________________________________________

Laser Eyes

If you founded the gold rush, then you must have that old lust, running through your blood like the rhythm of your heart must
I guess I know the way but I guess I guess too much and I'm stuck inside a shitty movie moving like a lush
If you got your movin' shoes I will move with you but I move like glue, you're stranger than the strangest man I kinda know but I wish I knew
I'm stuck right here, all night long, I'll tap my feet to my favourite song, got no diamonds near my soles, just the knowledge of how shit goes

Chorus
And she turns around and she's got lasers for her eyes
I'd tell her that I'm different, but I'm different I don't lie
I got no place to take you and I'm older than I look,
But I'd let you in my world if my world is what it took

She looks at me with those future eyes, burns my face so I turn to the side
She takes out some kinda organizer, marks an X by 'bored and denied her'
walks into the smoke and the crowd, disappears and the drums get loud
And I'm left alone again, stuck right here as the music sends
Something through my body that I wish that hers would do
Oh, oh oh, Oh oh oh

______________________________________________________________________

Cambridge

I heard something Good
Heard you're disappearing soon
I'd disappear myself
If I knew I'd make it through

Would you meet me on my good side?
Meet me before dark
Meet me on my good side
Before this falls apart

'Cause I got everything that you'll ever need
If I'm wrong, I'll let you look inside of me
Come with me we'll disappear into the night
All my words mean nothing till you know I'm right

Chorus
So, if I followed you to Cambridge
If I followed you through fire
Would you tell me I'm still wrong?
Say everything you want to tell me
I'll believe you like a cold wind
I'll believe you like it burns

I heard something good
Heard you're leaving before sunrise
Getting on a plane
Moving far away

______________________________________________________________________

Rust Away

Spill out your guts all 28 feet of 'em
Looks good on a plate with all your sins lined up good, chronological order
I'm not like the others but I'm pretty much the same
I'm an old soul playing new games, gonna rust away
Gonna rust the same

Chorus
Every time I face the world it's gonna tell me that, I shoulda changed, I shoulda changed when you did
Everything you face yourself is a reminder, that we burn, that we burn out alone

I don't even know where we go when it's over do you?
Could be heaven, could be hell, could be coming back an ant...
Could be sleeping forever
I don't want you crying and I don't want ya scared,
Gotta find consolation in the fact that we all get there,
That we all get there.

______________________________________________________________________

Sunday Movies

Pills, puffers, mist and lovers are gonna fix me but I gotta fix another part of all of this
Before we can move

Some ways you lie to yourself, you're giving just a little more
To hope that you're right

If we're gonna make it work, then we need a little disappearing
Find if we're fine on our own like a searching Buddah

Chorus
If I come around then I'm coming for you
I'll wait at the ends of those Sunday Movies
If you mighta' found what I'm running from then
I'll wait in the lows of those Sunday movies

Take all the steps that we need that we're supposed to take
And leave all the rest to the gods 'cause they're gonna take care
Of you

Run baby, stay maybe, don't disappear or hate me
Lay with here and I'm not gonna tell you that we shouldn't
Be alone and we shouldn't be a hidin' from the world
It's all gonna be fine

Pile of Bones

I found your face in a pile of bones
Don't ever think that I'd leave you alone
I know you're a liar and you're probably a thief
Don't ever think that I'd leave you alone

I found you in pieces but I'll piece you together
Give me your bones and I'll fix you forever
They're two Faced you say but we all are in ways
Don't ever think that I'd leave you alone

Chorus
Promise me that today will be the last I see you this way

I watch so many clocks because the mirrors we broke
Are counting the days till this turns, we hope
You're cold, you're getting scared, you got no money, got no home
Don't ever think I'd leave you alone

You gotta try a little harder

______________________________________________________________________

Bulletproof

I Saw him last night, he was a little afraid
I think we all are too x 2
I said that I'd see you, when the weathers warm
When the summer's here, and we're all gone home
Oh oh oh

I said don't you worry
Keep your head up high
Your gonna make it through x2

Everything's changing, I guess you're following times
I think we all are too x2

Just because we've grown doesn't mean that we're invincible
But I'm bulletproof, if you got my back
Just because we know doesn't mean that we'll be sensible
But I'm bulletproof, if you got my back

Cowboys and Indians

I got my face in the fire but I'm falling asleep
Might be the liquor, might be the weeks –that I fell in to

Turned my guitar into a piano, cowboys and Indians- both in my blood
I'm covered in blood, I'm covered in blood

Chorus
Maybe if I prayed I would be luckier

Glass is broken, stuck in my feet
Calloused shin-splints, lucky teeth
Can't jump to the moon no more

Card Reader

The winter's fallin', I've been wet since christmas, a new pair of boots would do me better than
This kiss
I would venture to tell you the truth but the truth aint so pretty, I'd have to admit
I do think that you're beautiful but when you're worryin' bout somethin' it's hard to ignore
It is

Cup of tea and a pocket of knowin', seems so long since my body stopped growin'
I dunno what the card reader said but i'm willing to venture it's "Stay away from that boy"
I dunno if you like the hits, but you can sing along girl it's goes(STOP) like this
Oh oh oh oh oh

Couches are decent but i'd rather a bed, maybe the comfort's just a thing in my head
I kill at teen jeopardy think that a celebrity girl would be cool hangin on my arm
I like the fire but I hate the war, I think that maybe(STOP) i'm better keepin' time on the floor
Keep time... (percussion break)

Workin on my dance moves lettin' out my feelings, shakin to the trance grooves know it's what I'm needing
I'll teach you what I know I'm a prophet in the world of the lowest of the low
I'm the lowest of 'em all
I dunno what the card reader said but that's cool with me
Yeah that`s cool

Birds and Fear

Slag Heaps

Dead streets, ghosts that wait around. Gone now is coal beneath the ground.

All we got are the Slag Heaps, telling us we’re done.

Chorus All we need are machines now, to tell us we’re near All we need are machines now, to show we’re in the clear

Hang on there’s something in the air. Stay here, there’s architects who care.

Hang on they’ve arrived today they soon will break the ground/ Maybe I’ll come home

______________________________________________________________________

Safety (With Ducks)

I look around for a hero to mold, It’s not as easy as before. Another day that I thought was the same, How could I know it would be more?

Here’s where we would say goodbye
Here’s where we would turn to hide
Here’s where we would say goodbye
Here’s where you would cry

I look around for my hero who told
Me everything was fine.
I would ask him how to steer on this road,
Show me what I need to find

______________________________________________________________________

Hit Potential

If I hit my potential will I have hit potential?

I've only been here six days. I count to myself the ways that make this town a bit more like fiction, I can fly with this zero friction. So I sang church songs that my grandmother knows, felt the sand on the beach, won a place and a show. Saw the parade go by and the princesses smile, drank an age old wine that had sat for a while, then the power went out- it's a sabotage in the Margarees.

I would stay here, every day here, waste away here, if the world would turn with me

So what are we left with now? Aside from what we found there's still no light to see around. I stumble down to the park to feel younger but leave to old.

If I hit my potential will I have hit potential?

My body is sore from a week of this story making. I would do more but I'm weak from my glory taking over my senses- and under my clothes, I am bitten by black flies from my head to my toes. It hasn't rained on this day in fifty-one years, it's trying today but I know it’ll clear. The races are going I can hear Willy's voice. It echoes through town and I don't have a choice but listen to all he says.

If I hit my potential will I have hit potential?

English Class

Proud like Kings, we smell like cheap cologne ‘cause somebody said, we should be here

Stand our ground, there’s nowhere else to go, ‘cause somebody said, she would be here.

Pre-Chorus ‘cause we’re looking for a red car, it power our decisions

Chorus You wish you could have the view that I’ve got in English Class

Lean with pride, we’re holdin’ up the town, ‘cause somebody said, we should be here

If she reads minds, I hope that she reads mine, ‘cause somebody said, she would be here

More

If I die here, take my organs find a robot, safely store them

When I close my eyes I see something more

teach him recall, give him memory let him go on, from my ending

Birds and Fear

Goals and plays, I count a thousand ways I could come of age, I count a thousand ways.

I can’t decide if I have found my way.

Birds and Fear, Tell me what is real

Keep me still, if I am calm I’ll have a vision. Steeped with will, if I am wrong I’ll view decisions I can’t decide if I have found my way.

______________________________________________________________________

Murderers

I’m keeping my wits but I won’t for long, the batter is drying that keeps me strong. I’ve got places I’d rather be, with all the faces unlike me. I feel like I’m burning but aint got the time, the fucker in the water got me right from behind. I’ve flipped the guts of a dozen dead cows, If they could talk they would call me a murderer... who burned their friends.

Somebody save us!

I’m not even close to fifty feet away, it’s almost as though I’ve got some karma to pay. Lock up your girlfriend in a glass room, with all your enemies and without you. They get their ways and your hands are tied. I wouldn’t wish it on my own worse enemies... who burned my friends

Somebody save us!

______________________________________________________________________

Shadowman

Take the fear beside you, carve what you saw
It’s so clear defining, must be a flaw

I’d say that someone, I’d say that somebody
Was here before

If I could hear them, I would leave
But I can’t hear them, I can’t believe

This is all that I need, all that I came for
I won’t fall till I see, something more

There is more behind this, than we can find
There is more behind this, than we can hide.

______________________________________________________________________

Try

I don’t know why I would cry, but I’ll try, I will try.
Watch me lie, watch me lie. I will try, I will

Try

I see the time hold my crime, watch me lie, I will

Try

______________________________________________________________________

Dear Friends and Faces

I count the days till I can see It’s almost over in my eyes
It’s not the way it’s supposed to be It’s almost over

Count my paces dear friends and faces
Where are we going? Where are we now?

And we’re all alone again

I feel the pace we fell into
There’s no more present, just to-do’s
We’ll burn the oil, they fight the wars
It’s almost over

Count my paces dear friends and faces
Where are we going? Where are we now?

And we’re all alone again
And we’re sinking till the end
And we’re living out our lives
With persistent butterflies

Soon, we’ll all be invisible

Soon, we’ll all be invincible

Elm St.

A constant dust and the wires lust, a hyper-residential must have attitude and our yellow walls. Nothing’s changed, it’s all the same, I couldn’t separate a day or a year. Rubber sacks, the fear.

Chorus

What’s a way to tell if we’re living like we should?

Miss-spelled domains and a constant haze, we’re training Manila to steal our days There’s barking dogs and ‘Creep’ next door, I hear them practice, play it more

Chuck’s in the pool

Fishin’ In The Tar Ponds

Sunday’s here, I think about my past days Sunday’s here, I think about my past ways And they’re goin’ away, they’re goin’ away ‘cause there’s money away, there’s money away

I hear them calling, somebody calling out my name

Just week, I heard about the camp life Oil and money and wealth all around You’d pay your student loans in a half of a year Got money to spare, and nothing to fear

It’s not for me I’d rather fishin’ in the tar ponds

Sunday’s here, let’s talk about your past days Sunday’s here, let’s talk about your past ways And you’re goin’ away, you’re goin’ away ‘cause there’s money to be made, money to be made

I hear them calling, somebody calling out my name

Just last week, I heard about the camp life There’s oil and money and wealth all around You’d pay of your mortgage in a year or two Got money to spare and nothin to do

It’s not for me I’d rather fishin’ in the tar ponds

I’ll Think About It

Find me, strong and ready. So patient, still and aware. And Place me, place me under. Your seemless, your constant care. ‘cause we all want something more.

Show me how to feel it. Tell me that I can.

Stay here, go when we’re ready. But still I, still I’m afraid. And we stall here, we stand feeling fear flow But we know that we’re strong enough, we’re brave enough to see; That we all want something more.

Show me how to feel it. Tell me that I can.
